The short version
- Blu is an AI assistant. It can be wrong — please don't rely on it for anything important.
- Anything Blu produces — palettes, type, sitemaps, ballpark numbers — is a conversation starter, not a quote or a contract.
- We only take on work through a signed agreement.
- Don't misuse the site, and don't send us sensitive personal information.
Agreeing to these terms
These terms apply when you use bluefin.studio or talk to Blu, our AI assistant. By using the site, you're agreeing to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
What this website is
This site exists so you can look at our work and start a conversation with us. Everything on it is provided for general information. It is not professional advice, and it isn't an offer to enter into a contract.
About Blu, our AI assistant
Blu is an automated assistant powered by a third-party AI model. A few things worth knowing:
- It can be wrong. AI systems produce confident, fluent answers that are sometimes inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Please verify anything that matters with a human — email us at hello@bluefin.studio and you'll get one.
- It doesn't speak for us contractually. Nothing Blu says creates a binding commitment on Bluefin Studio, and it cannot agree terms, prices, deadlines, or scope on our behalf.
- Your conversation is stored. Chats are saved to our database and can be read by our team. See our Privacy Policy for the detail.
Concepts Blu generates
During a conversation, Blu may generate illustrative material — colour palettes, typeface suggestions, sitemaps, brand observations, or indicative pricing. Please treat all of it as a sketch to react to, not a deliverable:
- Any figures or ranges are indicative only. They are not a quote, an estimate, or an offer, and they don't bind us.
- Concepts are generated automatically and haven't been reviewed by our designers, checked for originality, or cleared against anyone else's trade marks.
- Typeface suggestions are not font licences. Fonts are licensed by their foundries. If you want to use one, you need to buy the appropriate licence from whoever owns it.
- These concepts are shared for discussion. Rights in project work are dealt with in the signed agreement for that project, not here.
How we actually start work
We take on projects through a written agreement signed by both sides, setting out scope, price, and timing. Until that exists, no conversation on this site — with Blu or with us — commits either of us to anything.
Using the site properly
Please don't:
- use the site or Blu for anything unlawful, or to harass, abuse, or impersonate anyone;
- submit someone else's personal information without their permission;
- send us sensitive information — payment card numbers, government ID numbers, passwords, or health information. We don't need it and don't want it in our systems;
- try to disrupt, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer the site or the assistant, or use automated tools against them;
- copy our designs, photography, written content, or code without permission.
Our content
The site — its design, text, images, video, and code — belongs to Bluefin Studio or our licensors, and is protected by copyright and other laws. Client work is shown with permission and remains the property of those clients. You're welcome to view and share links to the site; you'll need our written permission to reproduce it.
Links to other sites
Where we link out to somewhere else, we don't control that site and aren't responsible for its content or its privacy practices.
No warranties
The site and Blu are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy. We don't warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that anything Blu tells you will be correct.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bluefin Studio and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the site or Blu — including any reliance on something Blu generated.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the site or Blu is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100).
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Bluefin Studio against claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from your misuse of the site, your breach of these terms, or your violation of anyone else's rights.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and both of us consent to those courts.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
